Shu-Te University and Tarlac Agricultural University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) 111.9.12

[Kaohsiung News] Shu-Te University has been actively developing international exchange
and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tarlac Agricultural University
(TAU) in an online ceremony this month. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was
to be signed by the President of Shu-Te University, Mr. Ching Yaw Chen, and the President
of Tarlac Agricultural University, Mr. Max P. Guillermo. Ms.Christine N. Ferrer, the
Director of External Linkages and International Affairs, Vice President of Shu-Te University
Wang Jau-shyong, Dean of the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs, MR. Shih-
Chien Chien, Deputy Dean of the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs, Mr. Liu,
Kun-Yu, and faculty of the Department of Distribution Management, Ms. Maggie Lee. All
attended the event and looked forward to the bilateral academic exchange.

 The collaboration with Tarlac Agricultural University began in June this year when Vice
President Wang Jau-shyong went to Canada to attend the British Columbia International
Education Week 2022 BCIEW) and met Ms. Ferrer, the Director of External Linkages and
International Affairs at Tarlac Agricultural University in the Philippines. Both parties have
frequently communicated their willingness to work together, which resulted in this alliance
agreement. Both parties share the same vision of international exchange and the sharing of
educational resources.

Mr. Guillermo, President of Tarlac Agricultural University, expressed hope our university
can establish a more dynamic and concrete partnership with Shu-Te University during the
pandemic subsides and restore the glory of international academic exchanges in the past.

The President of Shu-Te University, Mr. Ching Yaw Chen, added that he is pleased to see
both sides enhance the competitiveness of students from both countries through curriculum
planning, student exchange, and academic exchange based on mutual benefit.

Every year, students from the Philippines come to study at Shu-Te University for their degree
programs, and master's degree graduates stay at the university to teach and contribute to
language and expertise to benefit their juniors.

After signing the Memorandum of Understanding, both parties have been brainstorming and
exploring more cooperation opportunities to enhance the global community and
communication skills of both students and faculty.
