OICA Introduction

Development and Organizational Structure History of the International and Cross- Strait Affairs Department

The International and Cross-Strait Affairs Office evolved from two independent units: the International Affairs Office and the Cross-Strait Cooperation and Exchange Office. The International Affairs Office, originally part of the Technology Research and Development Office established in 1990, elevated to a primary unit in 1999. It focuses on international education, overseas enrollment, and academic exchanges. The Cross-Strait Cooperation and Exchange Office, formed in 2008, handles cross-strait exchanges, initially named the Kinmen Branch Preparatory Office. In 2013, the university merged both offices into the International and Cross-Strait Affairs Office, streamlining services. The office aims to expand student resources, enhance international exchanges, and provide a quality learning environment.
