Shu-Te University continues to be the first place in Taiwan’s Academic Impact awards for six years 111.03.30
[Kaohsiung News] The director of the libraries and the dean of the College of Informatics of Shu-Te University, Mr.Chen, Xi-Huang participated in Taiwan’s Academic Impact Awards hosted by the National Central Library. Shu-Te University awarded the outstanding Best Communication in a Periodical Award, Most Influential Dissertation Award, The most popular periodical review, and Knowledge Contribution Award.
The library in our university is one of the most distinctive buildings with a valuable collection of books and modern facilities, especially the number 580,000 collection, including 320,000 Chinese books, 70,000 English books, 150,000 e-books, 21,000 audiovisual materials, and 22,000 bound periodical. Mainly is to provide the best research for faculty and students to share the diversity of resources and academics.

The award is based on the National Central Library’s “Theses and Dissertations in Taiwan”, which ranks the top five in the four categories: public universities, private universities, public and private technical and vocational institutes.

The library space at Shu-Te University is designed with a boutique concept to create a reading environment, and each themed environment can form its characteristic world, allowing students and faculty to enjoy various atmospheres. For instance, the College of Design displays books on aesthetics, color, programming software; the College of Management area displays the latest books on business, management, and statistics for the past three years. The English-language teaching books present books required for technical and licensing purposes in various fields. The library also has an area with lots of learning resources and group discussion spaces, allowing students and faculty to enjoy professional and comfortable resources and spaces.
